Return & Refund Policy

BicyclePartsZA — South African Online Bicycle Parts Specialist

At BicyclePartsZA, customer satisfaction is important to us. We aim to supply quality bicycle parts, components, accessories and cycling electronics, with clear product information and reliable customer support.

This policy explains how returns, exchanges, refunds and defective-product claims are handled.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any mandatory consumer rights under applicable South African law.

1. 30-Day Return Policy

We offer a 30-day return period on eligible products.

Customers may request a return within 30 calendar days after receiving their order.

For a voluntary change-of-mind return, the product must generally:

  • Be unused and in its original condition.

  • Have no signs of installation, damage or wear.

  • Include its original packaging, labels and accessories.

  • Include all supplied components, manuals and fittings.

  • Be accompanied by an order number or proof of purchase.

Returns are subject to inspection and the eligibility conditions explained below.

These conditions apply to our voluntary returns policy and do not restrict statutory consumer rights.

2. How to Request a Return

To request a return, please contact BicyclePartsZA.

Email: bicyclepartsza@gmail.com
WhatsApp: 064 513 0821

Please provide:

  • Your full name.

  • Your order number.

  • The product you wish to return.

  • The reason for your return.

  • Photographs, where relevant.

Our team will review your request and provide return instructions.

Please contact us before sending any items back so that we can provide the correct return address and delivery arrangements.

Unarranged returns may experience processing delays. This requirement does not remove any legal right to return goods.

3. Incorrect Product or Compatibility Issues

We understand that bicycle component compatibility is important.

Customers are encouraged to confirm compatibility before ordering, particularly for:

  • Derailleur hangers

  • Brake components

  • Hub adapters and end caps

  • Fork components

  • Cycling computer mounts

  • Drivetrain components

  • Electronic accessories

If you accidentally purchase an incompatible product, you may request a return under our 30-day voluntary return policy, provided the product meets the applicable eligibility requirements.

If BicyclePartsZA supplies an incorrect product or a product does not match its description, we will assist with an appropriate resolution in accordance with applicable consumer law.

4. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order when it arrives.

If your product arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact BicyclePartsZA as soon as reasonably possible.

Where available, please include:

  • Order number

  • Description of the problem

  • Photographs of the product

  • Photographs of damaged packaging

  • Relevant compatibility information

We will assess the issue and assist with the appropriate remedy.

Where a product is defective, unsafe or fails to meet applicable quality standards, customers retain their rights under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act.

These rights may include repair, replacement or refund, as applicable.

5. Defective Products and Consumer Protection

Under section 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, qualifying defective goods may be returned within six months after delivery, without penalty and at the supplier's risk and expense.

Where the statutory requirements are met, the customer may choose a repair, replacement or refund.

Additional manufacturer warranties may apply to certain products.

The 30-day voluntary return period does not limit these statutory rights.

6. Products Not Eligible for Voluntary Change-of-Mind Returns

The following products may not qualify for our voluntary 30-day change-of-mind returns:

  • Products that have been installed, used or damaged after delivery.

  • Products showing signs of improper handling or modification.

  • Products returned with missing components or accessories.

  • Products specifically manufactured or personalised to a customer's requirements, where this restriction was disclosed before purchase.

  • Other products expressly identified as excluded from voluntary returns before purchase.

These exclusions do not affect applicable legal rights relating to defective products, incorrect goods, statutory cooling-off periods or other legally protected returns.

Discounted or sale products remain subject to all applicable statutory consumer rights.

7. Exchanges

Customers may request an exchange for an eligible product.

Exchanges are subject to product availability and the applicable return conditions.

Where an exchange is approved, we will explain any price difference or delivery charges before proceeding.

Customers may also return an eligible product and place a separate order for the replacement item.

8. Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping arrangements depend on the reason for the return.

Change-of-mind returns

For voluntary change-of-mind returns, customers are generally responsible for the direct cost of returning the product, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

Incorrect, damaged or defective products

Where BicyclePartsZA supplies incorrect goods or a return qualifies under applicable statutory protections, return costs will be handled in accordance with South African consumer law.

Where appropriate, BicyclePartsZA may arrange collection, provide a return shipping label or offer another suitable return method.

Customers should contact us before arranging return shipping.

9. Refunds

Once a returned product has been received and inspected, BicyclePartsZA will notify the customer of the outcome.

For approved voluntary returns, we aim to initiate refunds to the original payment method within 10 business days after completing the return assessment.

Refunds required by law will be processed within the applicable statutory period.

The time taken for funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.

Where the original payment method cannot reasonably be used, an appropriate alternative refund method may be arranged.

Any deductions from a refund will only be made where permitted by applicable law and the relevant return conditions.

If more than 15 business days have passed after confirmation that your voluntary-return refund was initiated and you have not received it, please contact us.

10. Order Cancellations

Customers wishing to cancel an order should contact BicyclePartsZA as soon as possible.

If an order has not yet been dispatched, we will review the cancellation request and confirm the available arrangements.

Orders that have already been dispatched may need to follow the applicable returns procedure.

Any statutory rights to cancellation and refund remain unaffected.

11. Online Shopping Cooling-Off Rights

Certain online purchases qualify for a statutory cooling-off period under the South African Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Where section 44 applies, customers may cancel an eligible goods transaction within seven days after receiving the goods without providing a reason or paying a cancellation penalty.

The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, as permitted by law.

Certain transactions and products are excluded from this statutory cooling-off right.

Refunds relating to statutory cooling-off cancellations will be handled within the period required by law.

These rights operate independently of our voluntary 30-day return policy.

12. Lost or Damaged Return Parcels

Customers arranging their own return shipping should use a reliable courier service and retain the tracking information.

If a return parcel is delayed, lost or damaged in transit, please contact BicyclePartsZA.

Responsibility for the parcel and any applicable remedy will depend on the return circumstances and relevant South African law.

13. Consumer Rights

BicyclePartsZA respects customer rights under applicable South African legislation, including:

  • The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

  • The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

Nothing in this policy excludes, waives or unlawfully limits a customer's mandatory right to return goods, cancel qualifying transactions, request repairs or replacements, or receive refunds.
